Adaptive basketball for teenagers and adults with adaptive needs is very developed in California, USA, where classes and competitions are regularly held. The Adaptive Basketball helps athletes develop fundamental basketball skills – one-handed dribbling, alternating-handed dribbling, shooting, passing, defending, rebounding, kicking, tackling, strategy, teamwork and sportsmanship.
All adaptive fitness, sports and gymnastics classes are intended for people with physical and developmental disabilities. The goal of these classes is to create an inclusive and supportive environment in which athletes can improve their strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and overall well-being.
On 10/19/2023 in Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the city of Ufa, the largest all-Russian, inclusive forum-exhibition “Breaking Barriers” began.
At the forum, a stand of the International Federation of Adaptive Taekwondo was organized, the stand was organized by the Federation of Adaptive Taekwondo of Russia and the Republic of Bashkortostan, we thank the President of “FAT” of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Ivanovna, for a well-prepared stand and a super presentation for forum visitors, which caused a stir among visitors to the presentation.
President Smirnov Alexander expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and personally to the Head of the Republic Radiy Faritovich Khabirov, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Bashkortostan and personally to Minister Lenara Khakimovna Ivanova and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives represented by Svetlana Vitalievna Chupsheva, for inviting FAT Russia to participation in the exhibition-forum and allocation of space for organizing the stand of “FAT” of Russia.
The exhibition will last from November 19 to November 21, 2023, where new meetings will be held with representatives of regional ministries, departments and organizations working with people with disabilities and/or disabilities.
The forum was a success and is being held at the highest level.
As part of regional trips, Alexander Smirnov visited the Chelyabinsk region, Chelyabinsk, the regional budgetary institution “Regional Center for Sports Training in Adaptive Sports of the Chelyabinsk Region”.
Held a meeting with the director of the institution, Pavel Titov, during the meeting the parties discussed current activities and outlined plans for the future, holding all-Russian competitions and the participation of athletes from the Chelyabinsk region in them.
The Chelyabinsk region received the largest financial support from the committee with the support of the Chelyabinsk Resource Center for SO NPOs in 2023/2024, amounting to more than 3,800,000 rubles.
The center’s employees have already begun to conduct very active activities and training.
Bulgarian competitors had a very successful performance at the biggest competition – the America Tri Games tournament for people with Down syndrome, which was held in Argentina. Bulgaria was represented at the tournament by one gymnast and four athletes.
Aleksandar Asenov won gold in the long jump, and Radena Angelova won the gold medal in the long jump and silver in the 100 m race, reports the Bulgarian Federation for Adapted Physical Activity.
Emilian Kostadinov became second in sports gymnastics, and the men’s 4×100 relay team won a bronze medal.
