We congratulate the new President of IIC, Alexander Smirnov, on his appointment to a high International position.
On September 11, an online meeting was held, which was attended by representatives of 12 countries, representatives of 26 organizations in adaptive sports (gymnastics, hockey, football, taekwondo, karate, boccia, dancing, judo, cycling, figure skating, swimming, tennis and other types of adaptive sports).
The main issue was the problem of conducting and participating athletes in adaptive sports in major events held in adaptive sports and the lack of opportunity for participation in non-accredited and new sports around the world.
During the meeting, the issue of forming a new, open organization for holding world-class International competitions was raised for all available types of adaptive sports, which have developed rules and regulations.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to form and register the “International Inclusive Committee”, which will conduct the “International Inclusive Games” (Olympiad).
During the meeting, Smirnov Alexander Alexandrovich, provided convincing arguments and was able to convince the participants that it was Russia that should become the organizer and lead this organization, all this against the backdrop of the desire of Europe and the world to completely exclude Russian athletes, the Russian Paralympic Committee from the IPC, but ” International Inclusive Committee” will deal with other areas and sports.
Based on the voting results – (10 countries FOR, 2 countries AGAINST)
Smirnov Alexander Alexandrovich was elected President of the “International Inclusive Committee” and was entrusted with all responsibilities for the formation and development of the committee and the organization of the first “International Inclusive Games”, which will be held in March 2024 in Belarus, in Minsk and other cities of Belarus and Russia more than 10 sports facilities to host such a large and significant event.
