All over the world, December 3 is celebrated as a special holiday established by the United Nations (UN) – International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It is designed to attract public attention to the problems of people with physical or mental disabilities.

At the end of the 20th century, one of the priorities of the UN was to attract public attention to the rights and problems of people with disabilities. As part of this goal, 1981 was proclaimed the International Year of Persons with Disabilities, and the period from 1983 to 1992 – the Decade of Disabled Persons.
This period ended with the creation of a special holiday. At the 47th session of the UN General Assembly, a decision was made to approve the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Since this day, member states of the organization have held educational and charitable events every year in honor of the celebration.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality attaches great importance to the education of athletes with disabilities and provides them with all the necessary support to succeed in their respective industries. In this context, disabled athletes who grew up in the Cebeci Sports Complex, which was transferred by the IBB Youth and Sports Administration to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, are supported by our municipality throughout the year, as in other sectors.

At the club, which trains athletes with disabilities in swimming, archery and arm wrestling, special athletes also contribute to the development of successful athletes in swimming and table tennis. At the club, athletes with disabilities and private athletes continue their sports careers in the Chebechi sports complex.

Athletes who grow up in the disabled sections of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club achieve significant success in the competitions in which they take part, increasing the sporting performance of both the national teams and Istanbul.

BRICS – an interstate association has joined the “International Inclusive Committee” committees of the BRICS countries will take an active part in the organization of the “International Inclusive Friendship Games” which will be held in March of this year in the Republic of Belarus in the city of Minsk. Grandmaster Fabian Pini has everything ready to take his knowledge to Chile
Two cities in Chile, Quillota and Santiago, will host Grand Master Fabian Pini this weekend so that their taekwondo students can learn from the best. The director of the Universal Taekwondo Association will continue his tour of America and will give a seminar. On this occasion, the Grand Master will travel to Chile this weekend to give a seminar in two cities: Quillota (Saturday) and Santiago (Sunday). “I am very happy to be able to continue providing my knowledge. This country, in particular, brings back very good memories for me, since I was part of the introduction of this martial art there in 1991. Today I have the possibility of continuing with this legacy,” said Fabian in dialogue with Roaring Sagrado.

Adaptive basketball for teenagers and adults with adaptive needs is very developed in California, USA, where classes and competitions are regularly held. The Adaptive Basketball helps athletes develop fundamental basketball skills – one-handed dribbling, alternating-handed dribbling, shooting, passing, defending, rebounding, kicking, tackling, strategy, teamwork and sportsmanship.
All adaptive fitness, sports and gymnastics classes are intended for people with physical and developmental disabilities. The goal of these classes is to create an inclusive and supportive environment in which athletes can improve their strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and overall well-being.

On 10/19/2023 in Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the city of Ufa, the largest all-Russian, inclusive forum-exhibition “Breaking Barriers” began.
At the forum, a stand of the International Federation of Adaptive Taekwondo was organized, the stand was organized by the Federation of Adaptive Taekwondo of Russia and the Republic of Bashkortostan, we thank the President of “FAT” of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Ivanovna, for a well-prepared stand and a super presentation for forum visitors, which caused a stir among visitors to the presentation.
